Hey friends,
I wanted to share something with you personally before it makes its way around more publicly…I have been named the Executive Director of the Atchison Foundation.
This wasn’t a quick or easy decision. Storyweaver Studio and Storyweaver Brands has been such a meaningful part of my life, and so many of you have trusted me with your stories, your families, and your biggest moments. That’s something I will never take lightly.
Over the next six weeks, I’ll be slowly winding down Storyweaver Studio and Storyweaver Brands as full-time businesses as much as I can. I’ll be stepping into this new role full-time starting June 8.
It’s bittersweet for me, but the right choice for my family and the legacy I want to leave in Atchison.
A friend said something to me recently that stuck: “Storyweaver is always yours because it’s you.” And the more I’ve sat with that, the more I know it’s true.
Because at the end of the day, this work was never just about a business. It’s about seeing people, telling stories, and creating something that lasts—something that doesn’t go away just because my role is changing.
I’m not disappearing. I’ll just be using those same storytelling instincts in a new way—serving my community and helping shape the future of Atchison.
HOW THE TRANSITION WILL WORK
New Bookings: I will not be taking on any new clients or projects moving forward.
Current Bookings: I’ll be finishing out current projects and honoring every commitment I’ve made. If you’re currently booked with me for any date in 2026, you’re session will proceed as planned.
Returning Clients: I know this may come suddenly, especially for my families who typically see me in the fall. If you are a returning family, I’ve opened a session week from November 1–8 for fall family portraits if you'd like to book ahead. As far as I know, this could be our last formal session together.
I’m sure there will be more information to come. Just know how much you all mean to me.
