How do I book a session?

To secure your family, maternity, newborn, or portrait session date, a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is required upon booking. For weddings a $500 deposit is required to secure your date. If you have questions or are ready to book please drop me a note on my booking page!

Can I print my own photos?

The easiest way to get professional prints is through your online gallery. Anything you order from your album will ship directly to your door and is guaranteed to be correct!

Yes, you can download, save, and print your own photos. However, I strongly recommend to PRINT YOUR PICTURES THROUGH A PROFESSIONAL LAB.

Why do you communicate mostly via email?

At any given time I am communicating with multiple clients (during busy season it could be 40 at a time). Email is a fantastic way for me to make sure each client gets the same information at the right time in the process. Of course I love hearing from clients via phone! I just prefer phone calls and in person meetings to happen closer to your session so I can serve each client well with the time I have.

When will I get my online gallery?

You will get a sneak peek image within the first week after your session.
Clients receive access to their online gallery between 2-3 weeks after a shoot. When you book I will give you a better idea of the exact timeline at your session. Printed materials typically arrive 1-2 weeks after you select your prints from your online album.

Additional fees will be added if you need a rush photo delivery.

What should I wear?

I will send you a style guide and it will help you get a general idea of colors and textures. I strongly encourage you to talk with me and allow me to help you with wardrobe. This help is included in your package. Wardrobe can make a session go from good to amazing and I want you to have the best session possible.

What time of day do you schedule sessions?

Outdoor sessions are scheduled one hour after sunrise or one hour before sunset for the best light.

Studio sessions are scheduled between 9am - 2pm for the best indoor light.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! You can purchase a gift certificate online 24/7 for you or a loved one. Visit the "gift certificates" link at the bottom of any page to complete your purchase.

Are there any additional fees?

I offer one package for family, maternity, newborn, and portraits as well as one package for weddings. My packages are all inclusive, meaning my prices include both your session fee and a set amount of pre-purchased digital images - no surprises here! During the booking process you will have options to upgrade your package with custom albums, slideshows, and more if you wish.

Additional Retouching
$30 per image
Photos included in your package are already retouched upon delivery. If you require more complicated or specific edits (such as hair adjustments, background changes, etc.) I will apply an additional fee of $30 per image.

Travel Fee
$.65 per additional mile
Storyweaver Studio captures sessions in a 60-mile radius of Atchison, Kansas. If your event is outside of that radius, a travel fee will be added at $.65 per additional mile. If your session is out-of-state please contact me to customize your travel fees appropriately.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to confirm every session. The balance of your invoice is due the day of your session. If you choose to cancel your session, you will not get your retainer back; however, if you cancel more than 30 days before your appointment, you will receive any other payments back.

How do you handle rescheduling?

I understand that things occasionally come up and require a need for rescheduling. Your retainer is transferrable due to rescheduling as long as you provide me with 2 weeks notice. The rescheduled session must take place within 30 days of the original shoot date. Once 30 days have passed your session will be considered cancelled.

Sessions can only be rescheduled once to keep dates open for other clients. Please consider your date carefully.

Obviously, if bad weather is an issue on the day of your outdoor session, we will work together to find a better date to create your images. Bad weather includes a thunderstorm, hail, snow, or ice. Cloudy weather is not bad weather - I actually prefer to shoot on a cloudy day!

What happens if I'm late to my session?

I recommend you allow adequate time so that you arrive on time. Your shoot time is just that, your time. Being late deducts from your shoot time. If you have a 60-minute session at 6:00pm but show up at 6:15, you have 45 minutes of shoot time remaining. It’s simple as that.

If you are 20 minutes late, your session will be considered a cancelled and your retainer and session fee will be forfeited.

Do you offer payment plans?

Payment plans are available upon request for sessions scheduled more than two months in advance. All weddings have a payment plan option up to five payments.

Do you require online payments? Can I pay in cash or check?

Online payments are preferred. However, check and cash are also accepted.

How do I properly license images for business use?

If you wish to use your photos for your business, please let me know.

Licensing fees are not included in the above prices. Those prices cover the shoot and labor needed to make your pictures come out perfect. Licensing costs are calculated after each shoot to customize for each business needs and budgets. Pricing can vary depending on how many images you want, length of time, usage rights, etc.
