Cody + Nicki: A rustic barn wedding in Atchison County, Kansas

The Prep

When most people think of planning a wedding, they envision months of careful preparation. But Cody and Nicki? They flipped the script, deciding in just two weeks that they couldn’t wait a moment longer to tie the knot. With New Year’s Eve circled on the calendar, their family went into overdrive, proving that love (and teamwork) can make magic happen.

The family barn and shop became the ultimate DIY wedding venue, with everyone pitching in to sprinkle some sparkle and charm. String lights, rustic decor, and a healthy dose of creativity turned the space into something straight out of a Pinterest board. Relatives were running errands, perfecting makeup, and hustling to pull off a day to remember.

The Ceremony

With twinkling lights overhead and love in the air, Cody and Nicki said their “I dos” in front of their closest family and friends. The ceremony was as intimate as it was meaningful, officiated by Jared of Sunflower Ceremonies, who added plenty of heart to the occasion. Sure, it was windy and chilly, but nobody cared—the love and joy radiating from the couple warmed everyone up.

The rustic charm of the barn, the glow of the lights, and the heartfelt momentslike Cody losing it at the sight of Nicki in the open barn doormade it a scene straight out of a romantic movie (but better, because it was real).

The Afterparty

Once the vows were exchanged, it was time to party! Guests brought their A-game (and their favorite dishes) for a potluck-style feast that was as impressive as it was delicious. From crowd-pleasing casseroles to decadent desserts, the spread had something for everyone. It was a foodie’s dream and a testament to the love and support surrounding Cody and Nicki.
